Visiting Professors

The Department of Geography at NUIM welcomes four new Visiting Professors to the department each academic year. Each is a recognized world expert in their field will visit the Department during the academic year to present lectures and research seminars with undergraduate and postgraduate students and to discuss current research and future research opportunities with members of the academic staff.

Prof Bjørn Asheim, Chair in Economic Geography at the Department of Social and Economic Geography, University of Lund, Sweden. |
Prof Peter Coxon, Dean of Science and Professor in the Department of Geography at Trinity College Dublin. |
Prof James Sidaway, Professor of Human Geography at the University of Plymouth. |
