The Geography Department of NUI Maynooth is acknowledged as one of the leading centres for the study of climate change, a determining issue for humankind in the 21st century. This important MSc course – led by Professor John Sweeney, a member of the 2007 Nobel Prize winning IPCC team – sets out to trace the causes of climate change, to predict its growth and impact, and to develop policies for mitigating its effect.
Commencing in September 2008, this full-time course is an ideal opportunity for graduates pursuing a career in geography or climatology, and for those involved in developing public policy on the effects of climate change. Graduates should have at least a 2.1 in Geography, Environmental Science or a similar area, while working professionals should have at least 5 years’ experience in a related area.
